Have you heard? The Social Brain has won TWO awards in 2023 (so far)!
If you’ve been following my Insta feed, you’ll know that I’ve had some BIG news to share with my clients and followers in the last couple of weeks.
I had to keep schtum about what’s been happening… but I’ve finally been able to let the cat out of the bag and tell you that The Social Brain has won not one, but TWO awards!
At the start of April, I found out that I’d taken home the Best Digital Biz 2023 trophy from the BizBubble Awards. BizBubble champions small independent businesses, and this year, judge Natasha Francis and her team were focusing on companies that demonstrate “innovation in their approach to products, services, marketing, and operations as well as evidence of brand personality and brand values” when selecting the winners. (If you’re interested, you can read more about Natasha’s selection criteria here. It makes me well up to think that The Social Brain ticks all these boxes!)
Then, I finally got to announce something that I’d been sitting on for some time: that I’d also picked up the award for Best Social Media Support Service 2023 from Acquisition International’s Business Excellence Awards!
Here’s why these awards mean so much to me
Anyone who’s been in my ‘Brain bubble for a while will know that the last few years haven’t been an easy ride for me or my business.
Covid knocked me for six – especially as I was pregnant when the pandemic started and had to self-isolate for most of my term (and for a few months afterwards, when Jake was really little). I had so much support from my family, friends, and business colleagues, but even with regular check-ins, it was a lonely time. Add to that a stressful home move and a relationship breakdown, and I think it’s fair to say that I’ve had a lot going on alongside growing my company, my team, and my client base.
Winning awards isn’t the be all and end all, but it does prove to my followers and clients that I’m a credible supplier. I’ve got more than 13 years’ experience doing what I do, so I know that I can deliver brilliant campaigns for all sorts of brilliant businesses. That said, getting extra reassurance from the judges of these awards schemes really is the icing on the cake and helps to strengthen my reputation.
Coming out on top for these kinds of prestigious awards also makes me feel like my hard work has paid off. I’ve been in business for 5 years now, and like most entrepreneurs, I often wonder if I’m doing things right, and if I’m really making the kind of difference I want to make. I’m definitely a worrier, too. There are lots of things in my business that keep me up at night, wondering if I could do better. But getting recognised for my work makes me realise that a lot of these things aren’t the huge deal I think they are – and it allows me to step back, focus on the positives, and celebrate how far I’ve come!
I like to think I’m a pretty driven person, but I do it all for you, my community. I also have an amazing team behind me, which I’m so grateful for. So, at the risk of making this post sound like an overly long Oscar’s speech, I want to take this opportunity to thank my clients, my colleagues, and everyone in my network for helping me make The Social Brain what it is today.
THANK YOU! Fx
